Start your day with these delightful Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups! Combining the buttery sweetness of cinnamon rolls with the custardy richness of French toast, these roll-ups are a fun, delicious, and easy-to-make breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Roll-Ups:

  • 10 slices of white sandwich bread
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the French Toast Coating:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Cooking:

  • 23 tablespoons butter for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread:
    • Remove the crusts from the bread slices.
    • Flatten each slice with a rolling pin to create an even surface for rolling.
  2. Make the Cinnamon Spread:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
    • Spread a thin, even layer of the cinnamon mixture onto each slice of bread, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Roll Up the Bread:
    • Roll each slice tightly and press gently to seal the edges.
  4. Prepare the French Toast Coating:
    • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  5. Cook the Roll-Ups:
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 2–3 tablespoons of butter, allowing it to coat the skillet evenly.
    • Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
    • Place the roll-ups seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes, rotating frequently to brown all sides evenly.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove the roll-ups from the skillet and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with your choice of toppings or dips.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Bread: Soft, fresh bread rolls easily without breaking.
  • Avoid Overfilling: Too much filling may cause the roll-ups to leak during cooking.
  • Cook on Medium Heat: Ensures the roll-ups cook evenly without burning.
  • Customize Fillings: Add cream cheese, jam, or chocolate spread for extra flavor.
